FAQ

Will I get wet?

Yes, you will be walking through a river for part of the hike, with the water level typically ranging from ankle to mid-thigh.

Can I bring my dog?

No, dogs are not allowed.

What happens if I’m late and miss my walk?

There is no refund or free rebooking if you arrive late and we have already left. However, we will try to fit you into another walk time on the same day, provided we are not fully booked. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your walk is scheduled to leave.

Do I have to swim?

No, swimming is not required, but there is an optional 'swim out' at the end of the hike if you choose to.

How long is the hike?

The hike is approximately 4 km long.

What is the terrain like?

You will be walking through native bush on a well-marked track and down through a river that contains water.

Should I bring a hiking pole?

Yes, a hiking pole is highly recommended, especially if your balance is somewhat challenged. They are very handy in the river as there are rocks, and they help with your footing.

How long is the walk?

The walk is allocated 3 hours. Please allow a total of 3.5 hours from your walk time to when you will be returned to your vehicle. This includes travel to and from the chasm over private farmland.

Can I bring my child in a backpack?

Our recommended age is 6 years and above. If you bring a younger child, we strongly recommend bringing a hiking pole to help you balance and avoid falling on your child.

Can I take longer than the allocated 3 hours?

You must inform us when booking if you wish to take longer, and we will try to accommodate you. You cannot book the last walk of the day.

What if I'm late for my pickup time at the end of the hike?

We will try to fit you in on the next available pickup time, but if we are fully booked, you may need to wait longer.

What if I'm sick and cannot make my walk?

Please see our cancellation policy on our website. If you are sick on the day of your walk, you can gift your walk to someone else for the same walk/day and time. They must use your booking name as a reference.
